Ashley is the assistant director for dept.300 and has shown herself to be an amazing leader. Ashley brings her nursing background to her role as leader. I say this because she continues to show passion in taking care of her staff, the patients, and their families. It doesn't matter what she has going on, Ashley is always the first one on the unit to handle emergencies, making sure that her staff are taken care of at all times. Ashley leads with compassion during hard times and with examples all of the time. I am impressed with her ability to keep everything running smoothly on a 41-bed med-surg unit and I am impressed by the fact that her staff are never expected to do anything that she wouldn't do herself. Ashley is always providing educational opportunities and has even developed an educational center in the unit. I think Ashley exemplifies what the DAISY Award stands for because of her caring and compassion for her staff, the patients, and their families all under her care.
