I received a personal phone call as the AVP from a patient asking me to call them back about "one of my employees", a message no leader typically wants to hear. However, when I called the patient back, I was pleasantly surprised to find out the patient was calling me to compliment the care provided by one of our PreAnesthesia Nurses, Dana Wallace. The patient started out by describing Dana as being courteous, helpful, professional, and just plain nice. He stated that she truly engaged with his quirky personality and did not just "respond like a rock". He stated, he knew that with her job she spent much time on the phone, which could be mundane and totally scripted. However, he stated she was fun, and caring and he could even tell she was smiling through the telephone. She even took the time to respond to his joking and had fun with him during the phone interaction. He went on to say that Dana has all the wonderful attributes of an employee at Shannon and is a wonderful representative of the hospital.

I am so proud to have Dana as a part of the Shannon team and truly demonstrating the "Shannon Way" and Values!
