My dad was recently diagnosed with cancer and we have spent the past month in and out of the hospital with him. And I just need to say that the nursing staff on floor 5, Northside, Oncology, are the BEST nurses on the planet! I cannot say enough good things about them. There are no words big enough and strong enough to show my gratitude to this team of nurses. Their bedside manner is superb, their level of care is outstanding, their willingness to answer my many many questions is fantastic and their interaction with my dad has been magnificent! I also witnessed a few times where they had student nurses from St. Ben's and how the oncology nurses take special time to teach them right there in the room with my dad is heartwarming. (I am an educator and my dad is a former educator) so actions like this speak directly to our hearts.

Nurse Joe has been the nurse I have had the most interaction with and he is SO AMAZING! That man deserves an award for his professionalism, kindness, honesty, and sincere care toward his patients and their families. I am so incredibly grateful to the entire St. Cloud Hospital staff for the phenomenal care to all patients (my mom has also spent a lot of time there. And her care is also always remarkable). But especially in this new journey of cancer we are learning about, this has been one of the hardest medical news to hear and the oncology nurses make that challenge a bit easier to understand and help us learn how to support our dad in this "new normal" life with cancer.

So THANK YOU - THANK YOU – THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for all you do every day to make patients like my dad feel like he isn't alone and that there is always hope and when the going gets rough, how to seek the Faith to understand the bigger plan! You are all truly sensational!!!
