Jeni goes above and beyond while taking care of her patients. In the room, she makes sure to ask questions outside of health care to make the patients comfortable; for example, if they enjoying the day, or if they have a hobby, etc. She also acknowledges the patient’s significant other and asks if they need anything. She responds to every call light within a few minutes. Jeni goes above and beyond to connect with patients on a personal level and lets them know she cares.

I had to take my mother to the ED for complaints of abdominal pain. She has been very afraid of hospitals since the COVID pandemic. She is not in very good health. After waiting many hours in the ED, she was seen by a doctor. As we waited, I observed one nurse that really “stood out” to me. Her name is Jeni Pevehouse. Jeni was very pleasant and kind. She came around the unit often and was asking people if they wanted a warm blanket or if there was anything she could do for them. She was finding out why it was taking so long for us to wait on several occasions. I know that getting a warm blanket may not seem like a big deal, but my elderly mother thought it was a gift straight from heaven!
