Kim is open, honest, and active on the unit, and someone that you can easily go to for anything no matter the time of day.
One of the biggest things that Kim does every day is being active in the unit. Kim is always rounding on the unit multiple times and helping in any way she can. I know that if I run into a problem, Kim is someone that I can turn to for help, and know that she will be there. One of the best things I think Kim has done for the intensive care unit (ICU) is to encourage staff to get certified in nursing, such as obtaining CCRN or other certifications. She not only encourages nurses to get certified but actively helps nurses get certified.
Kim also continues to find different ways to help improve patient care. She comes up with innovative ideas to implement changes.
The reason that I think Kim is an extraordinary leader is she is open, honest, and active on the unit, and someone that you can easily go to for anything no matter the time of day. Kim doesn’t try to push “her” agenda; she is always willing to try different ideas to see what works and is always wanting others' feedback and input.
