Sometimes I would talk for 20 minutes just updating her on the family hoping by some chance she could hear me. All the while Kristi stood there holding the phone so I could see her.
My mother was in the hospital at your facility not too long ago. I live far away and couldn’t be with her. At one point my mother was intubated and unable to communicate with me but I still wanted to see her. I called every shift and some nurses would give me a short update and move on, but Kristi gave me a detailed update and then did what no one else had offered to do. She had me call my mother's phone and held it up for a video call so I could see her. Even though she couldn’t communicate I got to tell her I loved her and talk to her. Sometimes I would talk for 20 minutes just updating her on the family hoping by some chance she could hear me. All the while Kristi stood there holding the phone so I could see her. She even took the time to explain the progress that had been made and the medications my mother was currently on. She went above and beyond for me as a scared daughter who wished more than anything that she could be there. Kristi took such good care of my mom and I can never thank her enough for her kindness towards her and towards me in this difficult time. She didn’t just do her job but she truly cared not just about my mother but about me being involved in her care even from across the country. I’ve never felt more respected and comfortable in a family member's care.
