When called upon to help out on other units in the absence of a manager, Mary takes on the added responsibility with a great attitude and lots of determination.
When Mary joined WellSpan as our manager, it was like she had already been here for years. She fit right in. She jumped right in showing her strong leadership skills from day ONE. She expects each one of her team members to work to their fullest potential. She fosters a working environment of mutual respect, high morale, and the highest professionalism. She supports us in achieving our unit and our personal goals. She acts as a mentor when we individually need help managing our work-life balance.
When you go to her with a problem, you feel heard and supported. It's not uncommon to see her working alongside us when we are in need of help. When called upon to help out on other units in the absence of a manager, she takes on the added responsibility with a great attitude and lots of determination. You can tell that Mary loves her job and loves her team and that’s what I love most about her!

Mary has been amazing since day 1. She hit the ground running, in her scrubs during a Covid surge, helping us to find a better way to prone and protect our patients' skin. She inspired our team to not only "think outside the box", but also drive us to perform at our best. Mary brings many things to the table, not only to benefit our unit but the entire WellSpan system. She not only developed a robust in-house CAPD team, and efficiently organized and manages ICU and PCU, but she also works countless hours around the clock to ensure everyone (patients, staff, family members, etc.) are well taken care of.
Mary continues her excellence throughout this winter, managing our Medical unit. She is always carrying a positive vibe, no matter what she is involved in OR where she is. Today, for example, Mary is sitting with a patient, because there were not enough sitters in-house! Mary goes above and beyond her call of duty every day, in every way. I have countless examples to share (please let me know, I will add more), but Mary makes a perfect manager in every way, every day, and an awesome role model for her staff!
