Chris not only performed at a high level as a new leader during a particularly challenging time in healthcare, but he has continued to exemplify inspirational leadership through his dedication, compassion, and vision. He has worked tirelessly to ensure organizational decisions were informed by the most accurate data and scientific evidence. He has worked countless hours to put processes in place (vaccination clinics, employee tracking/follow-ups, etc) to create safe and effective programs for all staff. He maintained high visibility and personal touch during this time (when he must have been overloaded) to answer all questions and thoughtfully consider individual circumstances. He has been highly responsive not only to the needs of the organization but to those of the staff and department managers as well. He has always maintained respect and compassion for others during this stressful time and his consistency and dedication have inspired a high level of trust within the organization. His leadership of our Employee Health Services has been exemplary - he is a role model for ethical behavior. He is also a change agent and managed to influence other departments to take on new challenges (ie: unit-based flu shots) for our mutual benefit while fostering strong teamwork and positive relationships with leaders and hospital staff.

Chris has also been a supportive, motivational influence for growth. Leadership and mentoring come naturally to Chris and are part of who he is. As director of EHS, he encouraged and pushed a wonderful staff member to finish her education and apply for the new grad program– she is an amazing nurse now! Even prior to his current role, he encouraged coworkers to pursue growth opportunities and push themselves to achieve more – even me! I credit him with convincing me to take the risk of moving into leadership.

Chris is a remarkable individual who deserves recognition for his impact on our organization, our community, and the profession of nursing. He makes us all look good and strive to be better! I am very grateful for all he does and all he represents!
