A Patient presented to Jackson Park for an appointment. The Patient stated that he had been having stroke-like symptoms since the week prior. The provider wanted to get them to DI for imaging ASAP, however, the Patient informed staff he did not have a vehicle and would have to walk to the hospital. The staff reached out to their director, Jamie, and asked what they should do. Jamie was able to get a hospital vehicle and personally picked up the Patient and drove him to the hospital.

Jamie discovered that the Patient had actually walked to attend his appointment and it took him around 5 hours to do so. The Patient stated that he typically walks to all his appointments because he doesn't have a car, and his family work during the day. He also had a few issues with his insurance that he needed to take care of but did not know what resources to utilize. While the Patiebt was having his CT, Jamie reached out to Claimaid, Patient Services, and the Foundation to help get the Patient all the resources available. After his imaging, Jamie drove the Patient home and made sure the Patient got the results of his CT before he got home. Jamie went above and beyond for this Patient in so many ways and absolutely exemplified Patient First!
