I cannot say enough good things about Kasey, my day nurse, on the 7th floor. She was very upbeat while being very conscientious of how very sick I felt. She offered up as many things as she could think of the help me get rehydrated (in addition to the IV intervention). She listened to my concerns and addressed them as quickly as possible. She advised of the medication being administered as they were in a different form from the ones I take at home. She listed to my complaint about the mattress. She looked at the indentation right at the level of my lower back where the foam mattress was completely disintegrated. She brainstormed and came up with a solution of putting two folded blankets in the indentation. Unfortunately, the sciatic pain had already begun. In addition to the uncontrolled diarrhea and vomiting, I was in sciatic pain. She brought me heat packs and Tylenol (the only meds allowed to give me) for the pain. I know most of these things are what is expected of a nurse. I think Kasey's choice of profession is a great fit for her. Her interest and compassion for people as well as her nursing skills shine through. She truly has 'A Healer's Touch'.
