Camra exemplifies every single characteristic of a DAISY Nurse. She is part of the unit council and focuses on different concerns that need to be addressed in the unit. Since our first encounter, she expressed such enthusiasm towards oncology and being a nurse as well as having a capstone student. Everyone in the unit always is happy to see her because she brings such happiness to the unit, she always comes in energetic and ready to start her shift. Even though she is a night shift nurse she comes in with such energy it's almost like she's a ray of sunshine. Throughout my capstone experience, she wanted to know my end goal by the end of my capstone shift. She truly cared about me learning something throughout these shifts, and she always ensures to ask me by the end of our shift what I learned and if she did well in explaining it. When she interacts with her patients, I truly admire her because throughout all my clinical experiences she is the only nurse I have seen establish a connection with her patients. She truly advocates for her patients and goes the extra mile to ensure they receive quality care no matter their race/religion/beliefs or ethnicity. Even during busy nights when we have a 5 patient assignment, she does not let it stress her out and manages it all by having proper structure and good time management. Overall, Camra is truly extraordinary and I hope to be as amazing of a nurse as her when I graduate and become a nurse.
