I was in the restroom and I heard someone laying on the alarm. Next, I heard a woman screaming is anyone here, my husband is having a heart attack. By the time, I was out of the restroom, the patient was in a room and they were working on him. The wife was beside herself and asking all types of questions. I did my best to answer but it only led to more questions. I communicated that the wife was very upset and Jessica came out ASAP. She spoke to the wife and let her know his EKG looked good but they had more testing. Jessica assured her they were doing everything possible. The wife found comfort in the info Jessica provided. Jessica gave her a big hug and that seemed to help even more.

Jessica made sure she was updated with any new information. He did have a heart attack. It was found after the first blood draw. It was pretty rough for a while. They wanted to transfer him to Union and go directly to the cath lab but there were no beds.

When I left, he had been stabilized. Jessica did an outstanding job! I’m thankful we have her on our team!
