Mandy has always been a very exceptional nurse and works so well with her team. Mandy is a float RN that works in the cancer center along with Infusion Therapy in Owatonna. Recently during COVID, her role was expanded to working at other sites within the SE region. She has always taken on new challenges with a smile and a "can do" attitude. She went to Austin to work in the COVID treatment site when it was first started and then expanded her skills to work in the Albert Lea cancer center, Red Wing infusion therapy, and most recently Cannon Falls infusion center. This was not in her job description, but she has taken on the other sites as it was needed for us to take care of this patient population due to staffing constraints. Most recently, there was an ice storm and Mandy left early to get to Cannon Falls on time. She was met with the worst driving conditions she had ever encountered and called to update that she would be late, knowing she was the only nurse that was working and needed to get there so patients could be treated. She finally made it to work about an hour late and was stressed but happily took care of the patients that made it in for their treatment! I don't think it ever crossed her mind to just not come in that day, if patients need her, she will be there!
