Emily was tasked with caring for two extremely irritable, morbidly obese patients at the same time recently. Both were screaming in pain and both had serious conditions. Emily demonstrated unparalleled empathy and patience in dealing with these patients for the duration of their stay. She also went out of her way for us physicians by facilitating imaging and lab studies to help the patients and to ensure optimal care was provided. I doubt any other nurse could have endured or withstood the barrage of screams and insults these patients subjected her to. Throughout the entire ordeal, she was relaxed, composed, very kind, and very professional. To suggest she was a superstar during these past few days would be an understatement. She is amazing and deserves a lot of praise and recognition for her efforts.
