Heather was my father’s care nurse on the first day he was at Memorial Regional. She came into the room and introduced herself to us and got acquainted with my father. Throughout the day she was very attentive to him and his needs which were quite a bit. Dad is not the best patient. He became very comfortable with her bedside manner which made him feel comfortable.

Heather stayed after her shift to make sure he was taken care of and comfortable. The next day was Heather’s day off. Just before he was scheduled for surgery, Heather came into the room. We were surprised to see her on her day off. She had come in to see Dad since he asked if she would come to see him. He had been taken to surgery earlier than he was scheduled but had returned to the room because of an emergency surgery that came in by ambulance. She stayed and visited with him and us for over an hour that morning. Heather made Dad’s hospital stay a pleasant and comforting experience. She also made a traumatizing event for the family a more manageable experience. All of your staff was great, but Heather stood out like family to us.
