This accomplishment was not just a “wow” situation for my husband, but it gave me tears of hope for my husband.
In a matter of 30 minutes another day visiting my husband turned out to be a day that I will hold dear to my heart. My husband has been hospitalized for 17 months with 28 hospitalizations. His pad was his bed for months. He is paralyzed with a spinal cord injury. When this happened 17 months ago getting out of bed gave him hope. His hope has been slowly fading; a sign of independence was lost!

Today a spark returned! My husband was wide-eyed, and hope was felt. This was a result of his nurse Heather Kellam. Enlisting a few helpers, Heather was able for him to break out of the rectangular jail and onto a recliner. Yes, getting up out of bed for the first time in months.

This accomplishment was not just a “wow” situation for my husband, but it gave me tears of hope for my husband. This was a “CAN DO” situation and displayed how Heather went above handling nursing duties to a high degree of empathy for us.

Healing is difficult with a spinal cord injury, but this hope Heather allowed us to have is not a DAISY but a bouquet!

Extraordinary no, SUPER grateful Extraordinary!
