Karleen just worked nights in care and often comes up within we have a high risk-low volume patient to support.
Our Unit based Shared Governance team would like to nominate our CDS team, Karleen Looney, Brooke Arey, and Angie McGee. They just exemplify leadership. They are absolute role models and mentors to all staff. They are constantly checking in with our preceptors and orientees making sure they have what they need and communicating with directors/supervisors. They are always finding ways to bring the education our staff needs to them instead of making them find time to go seek it out.
When talking with any one of these gals you can tell they care about staff as well as patient care. They are the reason our staff have the tools and confidence to do their jobs!
In the last couple of years, their team has undergone lots of changes! They pulled together and created new ways to bring out staff education including revamping our nurse residency program, and orientation, and taking on projects like tele-neuro implementation, new IV pumps, and wound care/fall team after losing out wound nurses. All stuff I am sure they never thought they would need to do. They have taken on helping the clinics with their needs. They are 3 mighty nurses in my book! They take on so much and field questions about everything! Most recently taking on fit testing all 800 colleagues making sure all of our staff is properly trained so they stay safe!
Karleen, Brooke, and Angie also supplement our floor staff. They are the first to jump in when a team needs support. Karleen just worked nights in care and often comes up within we have a high risk-low volume patient to support. Brooke has taken 2 Main patients when needed and helps walk through new equipment or low-volume equipment. Angie often helps in OR, or whatever area needs her so that team can do their job safely.
We could not be near the teams we are without them and want them to know "we see them"!
