Jijo had been on duty on the 24th of December during the day, after which he left at 8 pm and was to spend Christmas Eve with his family and have Christmas Day off. At 10 pm, I went into Afib and the doctors on call responded immediately and were in the hospital. Besides that, Jijo also immediately came back to the hospital as he knew that his presence would give comfort to me and my family, and his familiarity with the case would lend itself to my care. On top of that, he also switched duties to come back on Christmas Day for the day duty as he knew he would be the best person for the job. This was extremely moving and provided not only great care and expertise but also a huge relief to me as a patient and my wife who had grown to trust Jijo.

Jijo has many qualities that make him deserving of this award - he not only has a reassuring demeanor and can read the patient and bystanders' needs. He goes above and beyond the call of duty in his genuine care for his patients. He is very methodical, organized and knowledgeable, and very intuitive about patients' conditions and needs.
