I am grateful and happy to work with a manager who involves her staff, encourages growth, and always listens to new ideas or suggestions with grace and positivity. Her natural talent for leadership makes her a true asset to this organization.
Wendy deserves recognition for her exceptional leadership skills. She is a true inspiration to those around her and a testament to the dedication and excellence that can be found in the nursing profession. Wendy is an exceptional communicator, seeking out collaborative solutions with staff, and engaging them within the process and solution. She values her team's input, thus making staff feel empowered and valued. She possesses a unique ability to take input from others process it and deliver it in an articulate and clear vision. She encourages those around her to continually improve their professional development. Providing opportunities to attend conferences, become certified, and continue to develop and hone their skills. She recognizes the importance of staying current and seeks out information and opportunities to support this. Wendy creates a positive work environment and fosters a sense of teamwork and collaboration. She has a strong sense of integrity and values, which she uses to guide her actions and decisions. She leads by example and holds herself accountable, inspiring others to do the same. Wendy is never afraid to jump in wherever needed, to pivot and adapt to the daily changing needs of the unit, truly creating a team atmosphere. I am not one of the nurses, so I am in the background. BUT, from what I see and hear of Wendy is one of those managers that is right there for you and the team. Wendy is not one to sit back in the office, delegate duties and focus on reports, etc. --- yes that is a part of her job, but she is someone who jumps in wherever she is needed: helping in the OR, in Same Day, talking w/ vendors/reps, helping with the cleaning of the rooms, supplies to talking with a family member about their loved ones in surgery. She is knowledgeable, a hard worker and supportive----- it is an honor to work with her.

I can definitely add to the reasons why she is top-notch in her position. She is fair, open-minded, a great listener, and a peacekeeper. Wendy will pitch in to any and all areas as needed. She carries knowledge of the department and its rules and regulations. Or she can find an answer through her resources. If help is needed because of staff shortages, Wendy is there, laptop in hand doing double duty. Admin., OR nurse, scrub, PAT, SDS, PACU, and room turnover. Wendy doesn’t demand respect or micromanage. She has earned respect for her genuine actions and abilities to lead this department. Also, she has a great sense of humor and fun. In my opinion, it takes a special boss to be able to balance all that is included in the OR day to day events.
I believe most of us have found our way here because of the team we have in this department. This could not have been accomplished without an extraordinary person to take the lead.

As a Registered Nurse at Mt. Ascutney Hospital, I have had the privilege of working alongside Wendy for almost a year now, and I can confidently say that she is an exceptional leader and nurse. Wendy consistently demonstrates excellence in her practice, and her passion for nursing is evident in all that she does. She is a role model for other nurses, and her dedication to the profession is truly inspiring. She is a patient advocate and goes above and beyond to ensure that the patients' needs are met with compassion and care. In addition to her clinical skills, Wendy is an effective leader who is able to inspire and empower all team members. She has a way of bringing out the best in others and she is always willing to lend a helping hand. She is an excellent communicator, and her ability to collaborate with other healthcare professionals has led to many positive outcomes for our patients. Her contributions to the nursing profession are truly remarkable and deserve recognition.
