As an RN myself, seeing the care provided to my Poppy was exceptional. The moment the bed alarm went off, Sawyer was present in his room. She continued to update me when he had a round of Vtach. She continued to ask what else could be done, and if there was anything as a family we wanted to see. She continued to ensure all concerns were addressed and answered. Sawyer ensured to call me when the patient became agitated and I could hear Sawyer in the background continuing to reassure and make him feel safe. It’s concerning to take a loved one to the hospital when you know what happens behind closed doors, but Sawyer ensured safety and compassion were placed first. Every detail regarding the patient’s case she explained thoroughly and as frustrating as it was, she did not present an ounce of anything other than calm during his episodes. Overhearing her report to the new nurse was breathtaking and phenomenal. There wasn’t a detail left out. My Poppy, confused and disoriented times four, remembers Sawyer.
