What a great advocate Dellani is for myself and my family. I was worried, scared and had no idea what this plan was for me. I felt the Drs were all bailing on me and I was going to lay in the hospital and die. My diagnosis was aortic stenosis (severe), severe COPD, then developed viral pneumonia after getting to the hospital. I was such a high risk that no one seemed to want to touch me. I felt like I was just sitting there waiting to die. I had been there 16 days, and one of the doctors came in and told me and my children I was going to be transported to Dallas by helicopter, and that I could no longer be helped here. It was devastating for me and my family.

On Good Friday an angel walked into my room and gave me and my children the answers we were looking for. She told me she would find out what was going on, and within minutes things were being addressed. She literally ran down halls chasing Drs that had been in my room, that she needed to talk to, and told me she was not scared to ask and get answers. She made phone calls, talked to case managers, and really showed us that she cared as if we were her family.

Dellani deserves this award and much more. I wish I could have been around her more but I’m sure that my family and I were not the only one’s that she was helping that day. No doubt in my mind, this sweet angel will continue to benefit others by easing their minds, finding out answers to their questions, and going the extra mile. Thank you Dellani from the bottom of my heart. I will remember you always.
