Our team has been through so much in the past 3 years, much like the other teams here at LCI. We have been able to endure these times because of the great teamwork that we display. Encompassing the strong Core Values: Caring, Commitment, Integrity, and Teamwork. My teammates and our interactions with patients and each other create an experience to thrive in life every day, creating experience behaviors. There are times we may be tired and stressed out, but we always find a way to come together as a team and push our way through. We had several teammates that experienced the deaths of immediate family members during this time. The whole team supported these teammates emotionally and also by giving cards, gift cards, meals, and flowers. This was something the team came up with on their own to support their teammates and was not initiated by leadership.

Our team has successfully made it through COVID and the Epic transition without losing any teammates. We realized that teammates were suffering emotionally and mentally from all that was going on. Teammates pitched together to pay for a massage chair for our Zen room. We also added Aromatherapy and a large coloring poster on the wall. This room is used daily by teammates seeking to take a moment(s) to get away and provide some respite. We have experienced working through these difficult times with limited staff available due to various reasons. No matter what the situation is our team always provides exceptional patient care.

One of our patients was heavily involved with the Black Mountain Home for Children, Youth, & Families in the area. We teamed up as a group for two Christmas holidays to help provide over $2,000 in toys, gifts, and gift cards to the residents at the facility. Towards the end of 2022, the patient realized that this was likely her last Christmas and it made it extra special that we were all able to help her one last time with a cause that she was so passionate about.

The following comments displayed are by our patients which confirms our dedication to them: 1. The best part of the visit was friendliness. 2. Compassionate care I received from start to finish 3. I like how comfortable I am made to feel each time I have an appointment 4. The Staff---all were very friendly and helpful. It is a very hard place to work where Cancer is the main topic. But everyone I have met over the past several months has been upbeat and very kind. Am very impressed with your staff and their caring spirits. Thank you for your time and consideration.
