Lori is an exceptional nurse and I couldn’t have asked for someone with more compassion than she gave to us.
[Patient] was diagnosed with TGA. She was born in April and we knew ahead of time she would need a heart surgery. We had so many great nurses during our stay. Lori Snyder-Proulx and I had an instant connection. She took care of [patient] and was so compassionate about her care (I don’t even want to say job because she didn’t make it feel like a job- you can tell that when someone has passion about what they do). Not only did she answer our millions of questions but she made us feel at home and took care of me as well. Even though it was extra work, she made it happen for me to lay next to [patient], multiple times and hold her while she was intubated. She went the extra mile to make me feel connected to [patient] and get her close to me. When I was going to have extra visitors she helped guide me and think about [patient]’s health first. [Patient] had a slight fever and said we shouldn’t have extra people in her room. She helped advocate for me (knowing I was already on a major lack of sleep) and helped protect our baby girl. Lori is an exceptional nurse and I couldn’t have asked for someone with more compassion than she gave to us. She touched our lives and forever has left an imprint in our hearts. I’m forever grateful for her care, friendship, guidance, reassurance, and fantastic nursing skills. She is truly a wonderful person and told me time after time that [patient] was in the best hands and care and she was right! We are home now and [patient] is doing wonderful! Thank you, Lori, for making such an impact on our lives. We love you!
