Amber has been a night nurse at the Sublette Center for the past four years. Multiple nominations submitted noted Amber’s compassion for patients. One noted “She has a rare wonderful personality. She’s a nurse and a friend. Amber is patient and always takes her time to listen to what I say. Another wrote, “She makes me feel safe, cared for, loved, and valued: all the best traits a caregiver should have wrapped into one amazing person.”

Fellow co-workers also nominated Amber, writing “She cares deeply for the elders in our community. She is frequently at the bedside, holding their hand, as they take their last breath. She is a blessing to our facility.” 

A fellow Sublette Center Nurse, notes “Amber makes the residents feel safe and comfortable. The family members ask for her by name. It’s also been proven time and time again that residents will wait for Amber to be working before they pass from this world! Her ability to help get them through their pain, fears, and anxiety in order for them to pass more peacefully is extraordinary! All of Amber’s fellow nurses who work with her absolutely love her! She goes above and beyond for all of us here at the Sublette Center! She’s a true example of what nursing really is.” A SCHD Administrator, notes, “We are blessed to have Amber on our team. Her true concern shines through, and we could not be more proud of her for winning this award.”
