My 91-year-old mother was rushed to the hospital due to congestive heart failure and Matthew was one of her nurses.  Mom was scared and nervous as the medical team worked to lower her blood pressure and heart rate.  Matthew had a great attitude and had such a calming spirit and took the time to answer all my questions. Matthew treated each patient as if they were the only patient he had. When you are in the emergency room, whether as the patient or family member, there is such a high level of anxiety and Matthew took time with mom and continued to make sure that she was okay and checking to see if we needed anything.  In talking with Matthew, I could tell that he really cares about others and not only his patients but also his teammates as he provided assistance to them. It is my understanding that Matthew recently graduated from nursing school and has only been an ER nurse for 4 months.  With his level of professionalism and knowledge, I thought he had a few years of experience. His attentiveness allowed me to breathe a little bit easier and to focus on my mom.
