This precious lady is the most caring, giving, professional patient advocate I have ever seen. My son was in PACU having post-op surgical pain and nausea which were both very severe. My son also had several episodes of vomiting. This precious RN tried everything ordered. When that did not work, she did not hesitate to get alternative orders to help stabilize my son. During his pain and nausea, she was so comforting with her words of love and care, as well as her awesome loving bedside manner. She made my son feel like he was her family. She fed him when he couldn’t since he has the use of only one hand, and applied a cool compress when he was diaphoretic. She reassured him that she will see to it that he would be stabilized and that he would not be left in this manner. Therapeutic touch to his arm reassuring him when he was very sick and frustrated with constant reassurance that she would help him was an understatement. She went above and beyond from the moment he arrived in PACU. She never stopped making me, his mom, feel comfortable. She did her job as an RN that is a fact. I, myself, am a retried Kaiser RN and two-time DAISY Honoree. I know what going above and beyond the RN protocol means. Now this lady by far really exemplifies what an OUTSTANDING RN looks like. My son was miserable. I was worried. I think he was worried to some degree too. This precious RN angel not only took care of her “duties”, but she went way above and beyond to show she cared. She let me sit next to him when he slept and got stabilized. She was such a smart girl asking anesthesia repeatedly for help for my son. She was not afraid to stand up for the patient and that she was here for us both. She gave my son extra care, love, and attention. She provided words of comfort, she was caring, feeding him nourishment when he couldn’t, providing pillows and provided blankets, encouragement, patience for my son, reassurance, coffee, and a blanket for mom after midnight. This lady did all she could and still did more. Thank you to this angel.

Ashley is a remarkable nurse, and she exemplifies the VALUES of Kaiser Permanente Nursing. She provides EXCELLENT care, with INTEGRITY and COMPASSION; she is a TEAM player, extremely PROFESSIONAL, and keeps the PATIENT AND FAMILY IN THE CENTER of everything that she does.
