After being yelled at by the patient, Kim somehow managed to gain her trust in order to place the PPD.
MedVantage Clinic in Primary Care takes care of very sick, very complicated patients. They just gained an 80 year old hoarder whose home has gotten so cluttered that it's life-threatening. A community psychologist was hired by the ex-daughter-in-law who lives in CT (the patient's son, friends and attorney no longer speak to her). The patient has no living family or friends. We helped the psychologist get the patient a room at the Brent House while she orchestrated a month-long house-cleaning effort.
We're trying to get her admitted to an assisted living for respite care, so on Friday, we went to test the patient for COVID and place a PPD. After being yelled at by the patient, Kim somehow managed to gain her trust in order to place the PPD. The provider failed with getting her to agree to COVID testing and the patient kicked the provider out of the room. Kim stayed in the room after the MA and Provider left, and managed to replace her diaper, change the sheets and bathe her. This patient hadn't had a bath in over 2 years!
Every day Kim has organized getting breakfast delivered to her by our partnering organization, CARE ECOsystem, and moved forward with this patient's placement in an assisted living.
