AJ picked me up late shift yesterday and I was in considerable pain. What a breath of fresh air in his personal dedication to my comfort.
AJ was nominated by three patients for his professional and compassionate nursing care:
AJ was very professional and made my care a top priority. AJ made sure all my needs as a patient were taken care of! He made me feel special and cared for.

AJ picked me up late shift yesterday and I was in considerable pain. What a breath of fresh air in his personal dedication to my comfort. He did everything he could to get me comfortable. The term 'patient advocate' falls short as he treated me like I’m his family and genuinely had the will and tireless desire to get me as comfortable as he could before he left his shift.
We talked about where we are from and a bit of family background like we’ve known each other for years. I truly believe the phrase, "You never work if you love what you do." He loves what he does. He loves his patients and genuinely cares.

AJ was my nurse on 2East and there are no words adequate enough to express how very much I appreciate him. I have been in this hospital for close to 2 weeks now. I have been struggling greatly with depression and severe pain. AJ recognized that something was wrong with me and stepped into my room and asked if I was okay. I was very upset and crying, full of anxiety, and AJ took the time to talk me through it and he really clarified a lot of things for me that day...
AJ has gone over and beyond what a nurse ‘typically does to help a patient.’ AJ has been a wonderfully caring and exceptional care taker and he genuinely cares about his patients’ well-being – both physical and mental well-being! To me, this shows dedication to his profession and his patients! AJ is amazing!
