He has a way of showing his compassion, care, and concerns while making sure that needs are met quickly and properly.
Once I found out that it was time to discuss my father’s end of life care, we met RN Bill in Vascular ICU, and let me start by saying what an incredible human being he is. He is a nurse, so we know that he has a passion for the care of humans, but I truly feel that end of life care is different. After spending every day in the hospital with my father for the last five months, it’s not just about meeting needs, vitals, labs, meds, etc. It is about making sure that your patient is in a comfortable state, and that their loved ones with them are also comfortable. Bill nailed it in this department. He has a way of showing his compassion, care, and concerns while making sure that needs are met quickly and properly.

I am not one to open to someone I just met, but when my dad was in TGH’s care, I felt a connection to Bill like he really understood what I was going through and made sure that I was ok every step of the way. I asked him more than once if I was doing the right thing. And he reassured me that I was by letting the doctors keep my dad comfortable and allowing him to pass peacefully.

Bill showed the utmost respect for my father, and I would look forward to each time he came into the room because I knew that he was always closely monitoring my father’s vitals at the nurse station to make sure that he was not suffering in any way. Bill, I will forever be grateful for a person who would honestly go above and beyond for a total stranger in such a delicate situation. He really helped my dad pass peacefully and helped me through the hardest decisions I have ever had to make. Thank you, Bill, for being such an exceptional, genuine, caring, person. You have such a beautiful soul, and we are forever grateful.
