The night shift on the 11th floor would like to nominate Dirceu for a DAISY Award for the kindness and dedication he shows every day to our patients at Mass Eye and Ear.
Whether it is placing an IV in a gentle manner or helping a patient to the bathroom when other nurses are not available, he is always there with a smile and a kind word.
Dirceu is also supportive of his coworkers and does all he can to assist them to care for their patients. For example, on a very busy night this past weekend, Dirceu placed 2 peripheral IVs, assisted a patient to the bathroom, and found supplies we needed 6 times so that patients did not go without.
