Alexa, in particular, did a great job making sure the baby had everything that was needed and everything was done in a timely manner while keeping patient safety as the primary concern.
I just wanted to send a note thanking everyone for a great job yesterday with the care of a neonate that may have had a possible head bleed. The baby was sick and we didn't know if they were getting sicker. The baby needed lots of things - including multiple labs, TPN, and finally a head CT. Everyone was always on top of things and did a fantastic job. Alexa, in particular, did a great job making sure the baby had everything that was needed and everything was done in a timely manner while keeping patient safety as the primary concern. I know she is a relatively new nurse, but she did an outstanding job taking care of the baby. I was impressed with how quickly everyone came together - other RNs came in to help, multiple RTs at the bedside, and the techs coordinating all the different things to get a baby in the CT scanner. I can confidently say that the baby received exceptional care throughout the whole day. I have worked at multiple hospitals during my career and it could not have gone better. So thank you again, please pass along my thanks and appreciation to Alexa, as well as to all other nurses, RTs, and the rest of the staff in the special care nursery. I am happy to report the baby is doing well, with no further interventions needed.
