It is with great honor that I submit this DAISY nomination for Debra (Deb) Trerotola MSN, RN, CPAN. Deb has been a dedicated and valued employee at Methodist for many years, consistently providing exceptional care, support, education, and a listening ear to both patients and her peers.

I began my career at Methodist in 1991 on the Telemetry unit, where Deb was working in nursing education at the time. I still remember a memorable encounter with Deb during my orientation. As she reviewed a few things with me while walking down a hallway, she made me feel supported and valued as a novice nurse. This experience had a lasting impression on me, and I have had the pleasure of witnessing Deb's commitment to nursing excellence as she transitioned into different positions over the years.

Deb has held various titles, including Director of Education, Nursing Supervisor, and staff nurse, and she currently serves as a staff nurse in the PACU. In 2017, I was fortunate to have Deb as my preceptor when I transitioned to the PACU as a staff nurse. Her guidance and support helped me quickly adapt to my new role, as she created a comfortable environment for me to ask questions and provided valuable resources for learning about different types of anesthesia. Working alongside Deb gave me the opportunity to learn from someone I deeply respect and admire.

Deb consistently demonstrates Jefferson's Core Values in her daily actions. She embodies integrity by always doing the right thing, being accountable, and treating others with respect. Her service-minded attitude and courage to speak up when necessary makes her an exceptional team member. Deb's compassion, care, approachability, and comforting nature are evident to anyone who witnesses her interactions with patients. She not only cares for the individuals under her care but also supports the unit as a whole. Deb willingly takes on additional duties and readily assists her co-workers with patient care and problem-solving. She truly embodies the spirit of a team player.

Outside of her work at the hospital, Deb actively participates in organizing a coat drive during the holiday season for a local parish. This initiative showcases her impact as an extraordinary nurse and an extraordinary person, as she consistently goes above and beyond to provide compassionate care to those in need within our community.

Deb is an amazing individual who deserves recognition for her loyalty, compassion, dedication to the nursing profession, and adherence to core values. I speak from personal experience, but I know that Deb has been a role model for many others over the years. She exemplifies the qualities of a true leader, inspiring others to strive for their best and perform at their highest level. Deb is widely known and respected throughout the organization.

On a personal note, Deb has been my go-to person. She has a remarkable ability to provide comfort when it is needed the most. Her willingness to listen and offer words of wisdom speaks to her caring nature, for which I am deeply grateful. She has provided me with solace during difficult times, and her support has meant the world to me.

Working in the PACU, the level of care provided by Deb is often unseen by others, as it is a specialized and secluded area. There is a saying that goes, "A person may not remember your name, but they will remember how you made them feel." I am certain that countless patients Deb has cared for in the PACU, during their recovery from anesthesia, may not recall her name, but they certainly remember the exceptional care she provided.

Thank you for providing this opportunity to highlight just a few of Deb's remarkable qualities as a compassionate nurse and person.
