Maureen made a traumatic experience somewhat more bearable. She amazed me with her knowledge of what a dying person needs. She fed my husband tiny pieces of food so he wouldn’t choke; suggested medication so he wouldn’t be in pain in his last hours; played beautiful classical music to help him relax. She was very attentive and made sure we were always covered. She held his hand when his defibrillator went off and gave him much comfort. In the last three days, I didn’t leave my husband’s side. Maureen and her orientee made sure I ate and was comfortable. They worked closely with other members of the team to ensure my husband was comfortable and that I could spend his last hours with him. What a wonderful testimony to humanity. Thank you for helping my husband die with respect, dignity, and comfort.
