I felt so safe and so cared for because of him that I am planning on volunteering to give back and make a difference in other patients' lives like how Jasper did for me.
I had a stroke and was paralyzed half of the body and had slurred speech. I was getting so frustrated especially since most people couldn’t understand what I was trying to tell them. The nurses in neuro ICU took good care of me but there is one nurse that really stood out and that is Jasper. He came in one night when I was so frustrated and short-tempered. He introduced himself, explain who he is and will be doing and patiently listened to me. He is the kindest and most patient person I have ever met and very polite and so respectful! I could tell he was also having a hard time understanding me but he was listening so intently, patiently trying to comprehend what I was trying to communicate. He would repeat what he thought I said to make sure he heard and understood me correctly and if I repeat it, meaning he didn’t get it, he will apologize when it was not even his fault. I appreciated his effort, understanding, and patience. I could tell he was very busy but he always takes the time to stay and listen to me when I called to make sure my needs are met. Thankfully, my symptoms were resolved after the surgery, and I was lucky to have Jasper take care of me after surgery. He is not only a caring nurse but also very capable and really knows his stuff. I felt so safe and so cared for because of him that I am planning on volunteering to give back and make a difference in other patients' lives like how Jasper did for me. On my darkest & weakest time, Jasper served as my hope & light for me not to lose hope, and even though I know he doesn’t expect or wanted this nomination (he kept saying this when I was thanking him), he deserved to be recognized/
