My father was recently admitted at Fairview following what we thought would be an in-and-out procedure. Just prior to discharge, Dad fell hitting his head and injuring his shoulder. This prolonged his stay, and this is when we met Mark. Mark was outstanding! The nursing team is so busy, but you would have never known this because Mark was always there. He took the time to listen to my dad and I mean really listen. He offered suggestions to the admitting team based on his assessment and the decrease in arm ROM my dad was exhibiting. In addition, my dad's 02 sat was dropping when lying down. Mark not only notified the proper teams, but he also did a full analysis by checking his sats in different situations (walking and sitting). On the day of discharge, he provided all the information to my parents that they would need at home, and then asked for my phone number to be able to call me with the discharge details. My mom is still talking about how wonderful Mark was to them and I wanted to make sure you were aware of how well he took care of my dad. I know he will say he was just doing his job, but we will never forget how he made my dad feel!
