In my short time that I’ve know her, she goes above and beyond the call of duty for a nurse. She is knowledgeable in all facets. An example, she is always kind and encouraging with her students or even with families who aren’t knowledgeable about diagnoses. I’ve seen her spend hours giving anatomy lessons and printing out literature to help her patients' families understand. Not only does she help their family, but she is the RN you want in your corner if you are in crisis! She catches so many crazy cases and never takes no for an answer! She advocates her heart out and 99% of the time she is right and gets her patients the care they need! But what makes her really great is how much of a team player she is! If you are having a terrible night, she is there to always ask what you need or to hype you up if you are feeling lost and overwhelmed. Personally, she has helped me on so many occasions that without her I don’t know what I would’ve done. Just recently we were 5:1 ratio with her charting and taking a whole team. I had two back-to-back met codes and transferred a patient off all during med pass. I was so stressed that when I came back my patients would be a mess but no! She had passed my meds and watched over my patients. I believe she is a true DAISY Nurse.
