Mary takes on multiple assignments while still being able to continue with duties and supporting the team. Mary works with other departments to help alleviate their scheduling issues and has gone into staffing for ICU when they had call-offs. Mary accepted the charge position, had a team of patients, and continued with the shift coordinator position so the patients on the unit had good nursing care. She advocates for the team and the staff of other units to ensure that if a team member has issues, Mary looks for a solution.

Mary does this while listening to the opinion of the other person and helps them look for a win-win solution. Mary is always willing to stop what she is doing and help transport patients, relieve staff members that need a break, or assist in patient care. Mary communicates issues with patient care to leadership to keep everyone in the loop while problem-solving the best approach for patient needs and maintains an open-door policy for the teams. Mary doesn’t wait for someone to ask, if she can help-she offers. I’m very proud to know and work with Mary.
