My dad underwent a 10-hour surgery after a traumatic car accident and came up to the burn unit to recover that night. When Tiffany came in to introduce herself at the beginning of the shift, we told her we had many questions but were willing to wait for her to get her shift going to ask. We named a few of our questions, and before she came in for her 8 PM assessment, she had already called the doctors and had all of our questions answered. Besides answering our questions more promptly than expected, Tiffany always validated our concerns. They were validated as being of the utmost importance because we are family. At the end of each day we felt that we could go home comfortably, knowing that my dad was in good hands. We couldn’t wait for him to become more alert to meet Tiffany because of the special bond we were able to make with her. From then on, Tiffany’s bubbly personality brought light to a stressful situation, her nursing judgment was always accurate, she communicated our concerns perfectly to providers, and she kept everything very clean. Tiffany was able to anticipate my dad’s pain and stayed one step ahead of it at all times. We always looked forward to seeing her in the evenings, and firmly believe she is a DAISY Nurse.
