Despite it being a crazy night, Anna made us feel like family, like a friend.
My grandmother had a return trip to the emergency room just 36 hours after being discharged to a 21-day rehab facility. Anna was our nurse. This was around midnight on the morning of Easter. My grandmother was admitted to ICU for a low heart rate and low blood pressure following her hip surgery. She is 82 years old and also hard of hearing. We were having a hard time getting her awake because of her stats. She, too, suffers from some dementia and was suffering from some delirium this early morning.

Anna was so sweet to me and my aunt. She tried to relate to us; she was in a similar situation with her own grandmother. She was very knowledgeable and explained everything she did that night. We learned a lot. She spent a lot of time with my grandmother, trying to get her attention and trying to get her to focus on her. She held her hand. She got close to her and spoke kindly and clearly to her. She was gentle. She tried to let us know what to expect. Despite it being a crazy night, Anna made us feel like family, like a friend. She hugged us as my grandmother got moved to the floor and comforted us, which was really needed that night. It helps so much to know your loved one is being taken care of by someone who genuinely cares and knows what they’re doing. We appreciate her so much!
