My husband explained this situation to DeeDee. She was immediately empathetic and said she knew how it is not to have a C-Pap when you need one.
My husband and I flew to Florida (face masks firmly in place the whole way!) on Friday evening. Upon arriving at our condo at 1:30 am, my husband discovered that the C-PAP machine he leaves down here would not function. My husband has EXTREME C-Pap issues, so this was no small inconvenience. He struggled through the first night but it was truly just that - a struggle. I thought there was a very small chance we would be able to do anything about it before Monday - at the earliest. But, we decided to call our amazing and wonderful Doctor's office to see if there was anything that could be done quickly.
We were connected to the angel of all angels. She told us her name was "DeeDee" and that woman flew into action like the angel that she is. We'd previously contacted a home medical company in Venice, Fl which is where we winter. But they couldn't do anything without an Rx. My husband explained this situation to DeeDee. She was immediately empathetic and said she knew how it is not to have a C-Pap when you need one. She asked a couple of questions; asked for the name and number of the person we were dealing with at the home medical company; and said that she would be back in touch. We figured we might hear something (hopefully) before the store closed at 3:00. Lo and behold, it was only a matter of minutes before DeeDee called us back; said the medical supply company had my husband's Rx and wanted to know if there was any other way she could help.
GOD BLESS DEEDEE!!! (I'm not at all sure if that's how she spells her name.) I called the call center back and talked to one of the other call center associates and he gave me her complete name because I said "THIS WOMAN NEEDS TO BE RECOGNIZED". He was a peach, too, by the way.
That's about it. We received excellent help far exceeding our expectations from a person who made us feel like our problem was now her problem and she was not going to give up until it was solved. Thanks to all of you at OSF who are so gracious, so capable and so kind.
