I was in BJC for surgery and had a nurse named Hope. I am in the medical field as a manager, and I know what true excellence is in that field. Hope displayed such a wonderful spirit and was so attentive to my needs. She helped me when I was so vulnerable as I had already had one surgery, and this was my second within a few days apart. I was in pain and needed comfort. Hope came to my rescue to get me comfortable and to relieve my pain. She never once acted like she was rushed or that she didn’t want to help.

Hope was on that floor to fill in that day and she adapted to the new environment nicely. She displayed the clinical skills and knowledge with all facets of my care with extraordinary care and compassion. She also displayed exceptional customer service skills by listening to my needs and helped come up with a solution to make me more comfortable such as propping pillows under my arms, adjusting the bed for me, helping me with the feeding tray, and was so attentive. I have been in the hospital with surgery on several occasions and I have never encountered such a loving soul. She is someone who really cares.

Hope displayed all qualities your hospital needs to be an excellent nurse or caregiver in any environment. She is a very smart individual. When she is in the patient room, she displays nothing but excellence! For this reason, Hope is a true DAISY Nurse!
