My husband was admitted to the ICU in the middle of the night/early morning. While he had several amazing and caring nurses this one stood out above them all. Joseph was with us for the last 2 days of my husband's life. This nurse spoke to my husband as he did whatever needed to be done (drawing blood, adjusting his positioning, giving medication) even though my husband was unconscious. This nurse explained everything to me and my family and answered any questions we had.

I especially appreciated that he was there when I had to make a final decision about my husband's care. This nurse got doctors to speak with me more times to review test results and prognosis. He comforted me through my time trying to process it all. He explained the final procedure to me and stayed with us to the end and then spent more time afterward with me and my husband while I said my final goodbye. I know there is no way I could have gotten through this all without Joseph by my side those last 2 days. It must be very difficult for him to go through it too but he handled it so well. He is amazing! Absolutely extraordinary! My family all are thankful for everything he did and showed us. There are no words to truly describe what a great nurse he is. Banner is blessed to have him! Thank you!
