I witnessed my mum and others being treated with the care and attention needed whilst maintaining their dignity.
My mother in law was recently an inpatient on Ward 31 and at that time she was cared for by Rolicia and her team. My mother has Dementia and was admitted with swollen leaking legs with little visible skin. The care and attention given by Rolicia was second to none. She would clean, cream, and dress her legs with such delicacy and care. I work for the trust so I am fully aware of the pressures and demands on the team with a reduced workforce, and patient, and visitor expectations it is hard to navigate and still stay compassionate, but she always responded in a friendly, approachable manner. Upon visiting, I witnessed my mum and others being treated with the care and attention needed whilst maintaining their dignity. Rolicia spent time communicating and went the extra mile to make sure my mum was clean and comfortable at all times. This provided me with the confidence of knowing she would be well cared for even when I was not able to attend for visiting. Rolicia would take the time to update me with the care plan and even just have a general conversation again making me feel at ease. Well done Rolicia you are doing an amazing job which I'm sure all your patients and family members, and team UHL appreciate greatly.
