I would like to take a moment to express my sincerest gratitude for the compassionate, kind, caring, professional, and diligent nurse Samantha, RN, for making it a little bit easier for my husband and me to navigate this tragic event. Unfortunately, this has been a nightmare we have lived through 3 times in 10 years, but I can honestly say Samantha was one of the best nurses we encountered while at SGMC. She took precious care of our sweet baby boy as she prepared him and us to say our goodbyes. She made sure I received his hand and footprints and a memory box that I will treasure forever. The comfort she brought to us during this time meant the world to us. She is a wonderful nurse and definitely chose the best field of nursing for her. She went above and beyond for her duty and stepped out of her nurse role for a time just to be a friend, an ear to listen to, and kind words to ease my broken heart. She deserves special recognition for being such a wonderful person and nurse.
