My dad's condition worsened while in Rusk inpatient rehab and he needed to go back to the hospital. Sonia was dispatched to help with the transport. He needed to get a CT scan on the way to Tisch. Sonia made sure the transfer process went smoothly, that transport did not leave while he was in the CT scan so he could get up to the new room quickly, and that he settled in well.

Once we arrived in Tisch, the thoracic surgery team came to install a chest tube. Sonia stayed as the nurses on the floor wasn't really ready for admitting him and assisting with the procedure right away. After the tube was installed, the care team determined my father needed ICU-level care and organized another transport. Again, Sonia stayed with us and ensured the transfer went smoothly and that he was set up well in the ICU. Sonia made a day that could have been incredibly frustrating and hectic into a smooth operation. She stayed with us the whole way, ensured everything went smoothly, and made me feel so good that I had originally chosen to get my father to NYU when he had his heart attack.
