Tyler's combination of professionalism, knowledge, and compassion far exceeds anything we could have asked for during our time spent with his team. We are truly grateful for the time spent with him.
My wife and I recently brought our one-year-old daughter "P" to MMC, and due to the nature of her condition, she was admitted to the pediatric unit and PICU. Naturally, we were very critical of the care being provided while we tried to ensure she felt comfortable and safe during her stressful experience. From the moment "P" was admitted to the pediatric unit, we felt extremely comforted and trusting of our little girl's care to Tyler and the rest of the PEDs team. Tyler, specifically, presented an ability to comfort P, answer our list of questions, and explain everything in a way that made us feel informed and prepared. Our family has experienced MMC's care from the birth of our children to the passing of family. Tyler's combination of professionalism, knowledge, and compassion far exceeds anything we could have asked for during our time spent with his team. We are truly grateful for the time spent with him.
In addition to the care our family received from Tyler, and frankly more extraordinarily, was the pure joy he displayed while caring for the young girl we shared our room with. “L”, our "roommate", was a small girl who was in the hospital even longer than "P" and did not have a single family member visit her while we were there (we were there 24/7). This was heartbreaking for us to watch, as we could not even imagine how she could possibly be feeling in such a circumstance. What set Tyler and the team apart from anything we've experienced, was the love and care they provided to “L”. It is not often people are able to witness true acts of compassion, and in the moments, we spent in our room, Tyler treated ‘L” as if she was his own family. We could tell by her frequent smiles that the care and love Tyler and team showed “L”, was beyond anything you could hope a girl in her situation could receive.
A truly remarkable thing for us to witness, in what was an extremely unfortunate circumstance. While we hope our visits to MMC are limited in the future, we can only hope to receive the same level of care Tyler provided us and our daughter.
