She ensures compliance with external and internal regulatory and governing bodies for infection control protocols and procedures on the dedicated COVID-19 isolation unit and initiates and formulates hospital surge capacity efforts. CAPT Goggins strategically applied clinical nursing expertise and analysis in response to a nationwide nursing shortage that adversely impacted facility nursing staffing and availability. She increased the number of pediatric-trained nurses by 50%, created developmental and part-time labor and delivery nurse positions, and procured a personnel contract for unlicensed support. Her efforts sustained inpatient pediatric capabilities and capacity that generated KSAs and satisfied GME program requirements.
