Now that I am on my way to recovery, largely due to my orthopedic surgeon, physician assistant, Hospitalist, and the wonderful staff that took care of me, I want to express my appreciation.
Every employee I encountered from the minute I walked into the Good Samaritan Hospital (GSH) went over and above to be helpful and friendly. I had never been to the GSH before, I was a little nervous going to a new hospital. The doctors and nurses in the prep surgical unit were all professional and nice, making me feel comfortable and relaxed. My oldest daughter accompanied me, she was also very impressed by how professional and pleasant everyone was. She even commented how anytime she walked past an employee in the hallway, they would smile and say hello.
The morning after surgery my oxygen levels were low. It did not take long to put a plan into action which was successful. The Hospitalist was always friendly and patient as he took the time to answer all the questions from my daughter and me. I loved the vibrant colors he wore as they cheered me up.
My orthopedic surgeon had an out-of-town trip that weekend, but he still took the time to keep an eye on me and called me personally that weekend. That call put me at ease.
Each one of the nursing staff was incredibly professional, friendly, caring, and prompt. I never had to wait for someone from the nursing staff after pushing the call bell. My room was kept clean. My daughter was impressed with the nursing staff as there was a particular patient next to my room that apparently needed extra attention. The nurses were extremely patient with her and redirected her, giving her activities. Not once did a member of the staff become impatient with her.
I have quite an extensive history of surgeries and have been a patient at many hospitals and I have to say that GSH is the best hospital I have ever been at. The food was great. My meal arrived promptly, appropriate temperature, and exactly how I ordered it.
In this day and age of overworked and overwhelmed staff, with people mainly seeking to complain, I thought it important that you be aware of the incredible care I received.
