Kerry is one of the best nurses I have ever worked with. Whether she is in charge or not, she always is able to lend a helping hand. She brings a smile to everyone’s face with her jokes and words of affirmation. Recently, I was having a very hard day before I came in for my shift. When I arrived, one of my patients was being palliatively extubated surrounded by family, and having people come say their goodbyes. As the priest was reading the patient their last rights, Kerry and I were in the room to be with the family emotionally and physically getting them anything they needed. My emotions were getting the best of me due to the devastation of the family and my situation outside of work. I had to remove myself from the room to collect myself. However, Kerry stayed in there the entire time to support the family in the way I should have. She was such a huge help during that time and throughout the shift checked on me repeatedly and reached out to me after the shift as well. Working with Kerry brings a sense of confidence, and safety, and I know I will get a laugh in when we work together. Words truly cannot describe how great Kerry is as a nurse and a friend.
