I am writing today as a thank you from myself and my family for the compassionate and caring end-of-life care that was provided for my sister who passed away. Her condition deteriorated quickly and the arrangements for hospice could not be done in time. Frankly, I am glad that she stayed right where she was; I cannot imagine that she could have received any better care than she did there.

Especially of note is the nurse on duty that afternoon, Lindy Proutt. Lindy showed such care and compassion for my sister as well as myself and the other family members present. She quietly did her job, communicating with us every step of the way, as well as giving us privacy during this difficult time. For those few hours, Lindy became part of our family. We will forever be grateful that she was the nurse on duty that day. I am sure Lindy will say that she was “just doing her job" but it was so much more than that to us. Whatever your staff recognition opportunities are we hope that you can acknowledge Lindy Proutt. She is deserving of so much more than just a thank you.
